Lithology and Thickness
Alluvium deposits. These represent two to three cycles of valley-fill deposits or alluvium which were subsequently cut or eroded by the river leaving the alluvium as perched, detached, lenticular or liner outcrops at different levels on either sides of the valleys. These are broadly classified into an Older alluvium and a Younger alluvium; the Older occupying higher levels being oxidized. Its thickness varies from place to place.

Lower contact
Unconformably lying above the Dihing Fm.

Regional extent
Extends the whole of Northeast Basin – Garo Hills, Khasi & Jaintia Hills, Mikir Hills, Dhansiri Valley, Upper Assam Shelf, Naga Schuppen Belt, Arunachal Himalaya, Tripura-Cachar, SE Bangladesh
